A Christian charity supporting homeless men and women

About Us

ECW is a government approved charity that seeks to follow the example of Jesus Christ in "taking up the towel". We take our lesson from the Gospel of John, Chapter 13:

"4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?" 7Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."  8 "No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me." (New International Version)

Just as Jesus was a servant to his disciples, we seek to be servants to those in need, particular those people who have been neglected by society - people who might otherwise be homeless, on the streets with no food, no money, no love, no hope. Christ welcomed all people, the lepers, the infirm, the outcasts. So do we, and we do so in HIS name!

ECW is managed by a Board of Directors and on a daily basis by the Executive Chairman, Archbishop Ronald Langham. He is ably assisted by a number of paid and volunteer staff.
